The Charter provides us with a shared vision for the future and brings us together to tackle homelessness in practical ways.

In recognition that organizations and individuals have a variety of skills and experience to share, there are several ways to show support for the Charter.

Become a member

  • Review your service in line with charter vision and values
  • Take part in relevant action groups and events
  • Ensure your staff are aware of the charter and sign up to its values
  • Include service users in the design of your service
  • Regularly provide feedback and listen to your service users
  • Commit to a 'No wrong door' policy
  • Include your name on the charter supporter list and display charter support logo

Become an ambassador

  • Volunteer to help local organisations
  • Share your experience using services
  • Join a local action group to design homelessness services
  • Share your story to inform others about homelessness
  • Learn what services are available in Colchester and how you can help

Be our business champion

  • Offer employment opportunities through entry level jobs
  • Offer skills and resources to our local organisations
  • Inform your staff about homelessness and alternative giving
  • Help with marketing and PR to raise awareness of the charter
  • Ensure you facilities are accessible to homeless people
