Appeal a food hygiene rating
If your business was inspected and you do not agree with the rating, you can appeal our decision.
We notify you of the food hygiene score after each inspection. Once you have been notified, you have 14 days in which to appeal to us.
Contact the inspecting officer in the first instance. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, you can lodge a formal appeal with the Licensing, Food and Safety Manager.
Comment on a food hygiene rating
Once your food business has been inspected, you have the right to leave a comment on the food hygiene rating.
Your comment will be published by the Food Standards Agency along with your score.
Request another food hygiene inspection
You can request another food hygiene inspection once you have taken action to correct any issues that were raised following our last visit. You can request this at any time, but we do not usually visit again within three months of the first inspection.
When requesting another inspection, you will need to provide the food hygiene rating you were given, as well as the date of the last inspection.
You will need to pay a fee of £230.00 (including VAT)
We can only re-visit once between scheduled inspections unless there are justified exceptional circumstances.
