This long-term initiative encourages participants to think through their actions, consider how they add value to society, and understand their impact on future generations

Boys & Men UK CIC continues its vital work in Colchester, empowering and supporting males of all ages to connect, grow, and reach their full potential through dedicated support and community engagement. They help these individuals overcome barriers, build resilience and foster healthier relationships that help them thrive in their personal lives and the wider community.

The club’s goal extends beyond individual support. It aims to enrich the community by refining cultural and social values as they relate to the male gender. This long-term initiative encourages participants to think through their actions, consider how they add value to society, and understand their impact on future generations.

A key focus is to reduce the stigma and isolation often experienced by boys and young men, enabling them to talk about problems when they arise and ask for support. This work contributes to a more socially integrated community, with outcomes anticipated to include ‘less crime, violence, alcohol, and drug abuse’. Furthermore, the project works to establish better connections with other local authorities and social services, improving overall quality of life. The club actively provides programmes focusing on skills and community connection. This includes Digital Training, First Aid Training, career progression sessions, Health & Wellbeing awareness workshops, sports activities and mentorship programmes.

Salim Higah, Director and Founder of CIC said: “Our success is rooted in our ambassadors and the commitment to holistic wellbeing. We are not just running activities; we are building a supportive system that encourages accountability, reduces isolation, and provides the tools for every man and boy in Colchester to make a positive impact on his own life and the lives of future generations.”

Councillor Jocelyn Law, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Public Protection said: “The CLC offers an invaluable network and a fantastic range of free activities that genuinely improve lives. I strongly encourage all our residents, whether you're looking for mentorship, skills training, or just a place to connect, to explore and participate in these excellent sessions.”
