About Juliasaurus
At the heart of Hollytree Museums’ new and exciting Discover exhibition is Juliasaurus, a breathtaking prehistoric giant stretching over six metres in length! This remarkable 150‑million‑year‑old dinosaur has travelled from North America and has never been displayed anywhere in the world before, making its debut in Colchester a truly special moment. Juliasaurus may even represent a species new to science, offering visitors a rare chance to come face-to-face with a potentially groundbreaking discovery alongside a fascinating collection of fossils and historic objects.
More time to explore
Due to popular demand, Colchester Museums has now also increased access to this exhibition and is pleased to now be offering four 90-minute timed slots each open day (excluding Sundays when the Museum and exhibition are closed), offering greater flexibility and more opportunities to experience the exhibition.

Councillor Lee Scordis, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and Environment, said: "We’re excited to be running this ‘Jul’ offer which is a playful nod to Juliasaurus, the star of this exhibition, and a great excuse to bring friends and family together for a memorable day out. With the offer launching on Dinosaur Day, it’s the perfect time to celebrate all things prehistoric. So, if you or someone you know has a name starting with ‘Jul’, there’s never been a better time to visit our fantastic ‘Discover: Museum Wonders’ exhibition."
