Claydons-Nisa has become the latest organisation to display the Visit Colchester Discover Map window sticker and offer free Discover Maps to visitors, joining a growing network of businesses, attractions and transport hubs across the city helping people discover more of what Colchester has to offer.
The network supports Visit Colchester's work to help residents and visitors discover the city's attractions, events, independent businesses, heritage sites and cultural venues.
The free Visit Colchester Discover Map, produced by the Visit Colchester team at the Visitor Information Centre in Hollytrees Museum, highlights attractions, shopping areas, cultural venues, parks and places to eat and drink across the city, helping residents and visitors plan their visit and discover somewhere new.
The growing network of organisations offering Discover Maps is helping more people explore the city, support local businesses and make the most of everything Colchester has to offer.
By providing maps to customers, businesses such as Claydons-Nisa help connect people with the attractions, shops, restaurants and experiences that make Colchester a vibrant place to visit, work and spend time. The scheme also helps encourage visitors to explore more of the city centre, benefiting local businesses and the wider economy.
Councillor Darius Laws, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and the Environment, said: "Colchester has an incredible story to tell, from our unique heritage and thriving cultural scene to our fantastic independent businesses and city centre attractions.
"The Visit Colchester Discover Map helps people uncover all that our city has to offer, and we're grateful to Claydons-Nisa for helping put that information directly into the hands of residents and visitors. By acting as a collection point, businesses like Claydons become part of the visitor experience, welcoming people into the city centre and helping to support a thriving local economy."
Kelly Sutton, owner of Claydons-Nisa, said: "We're delighted to support Visit Colchester and help showcase everything that makes our city such a great place to visit. Whether people are visiting for the first time or rediscovering Colchester for themselves, we want to help them make the most of their time here. The Discover Map is a simple way to help people discover more of what's on offer, from independent shops and restaurants to attractions and cultural venues across the city, and we're pleased to play our part."
