Visitors to Colchester Leisure Park are being reminded that new parking arrangements and road restrictions will come into force from 8 August, helping to keep parking available for Leisure Park customers and improve traffic flow around the site.
The changes include the enforcement of the new parking system at Colchester Leisure Park and the introduction of new red route restrictions on sections of United Way.
Parking arrangements
The new parking arrangements, announced earlier this summer, will be enforced by the North Essex Parking Partnership (NEPP) from 8 August. Visitors to leisure park venues will continue to benefit from free parking by validating their stay with participating businesses.
On busy event days, including Colchester United home matches and other major events, higher parking charges will apply to motorists who are not using leisure park venues. The aim is to help ensure parking spaces remain available for customers visiting the leisure park's restaurants, cinema, hotel and attractions.

New red routes on United Way
From 8 August, new red route restrictions on sections of United Way will also become enforceable.
Red routes are marked by red lines along the edge of the road and indicate that stopping is not permitted. They have been introduced to make existing restrictions clearer, improve road safety and help keep traffic moving during busy periods.
The changes follow ongoing issues with vehicles stopping along United Way, particularly during major events and match days.
Plan ahead and consider alternative travel options
Visitors travelling to the area are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time on busy days.
Where possible, people are encouraged to consider sustainable travel options, including walking, cycling, public transport and park and ride services. Those travelling by car should use appropriate parking facilities and follow local parking restrictions.
